.Likewise also said all thedisciples.Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place calledGethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here,while I go and pray yonder.50 And he took with him Peter and the two sons ofZebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.51 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceedingsorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watchwith me.52 And he went a little farther, and fell on hisface, and prayed, saying, My Father, if it be possible,let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will,but as thou wilt.53 And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth themasleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watchwith me one hour?54 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation:the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.55 He went away again the second time, and prayed,saying, My Father, if this cup may not pass away fromme, except I drink it, thy will be done.56 And he came and found them asleep again: for theireyes were heavy.57 And he left them, and went away again, and prayedthe third time, saying the same words.58 Then cometh he to the disciples, and saith untothem, Are ye still sleeping, and taking your rest?CHAPTER 16.When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth withhis disciples through the Kidron valley, where was agarden, into the which he entered, and his disciples.2 Now Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place:for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples.3 Judas then, having received a band of soldiers andofficers from the chief priests and Pharisees, comeththither with lanterns and torches and weapons.4 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying,Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.5 And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail,master; and kissed him.6 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, do that for whichthou art come.7 Jesus therefore, knowing all things that shouldcome upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seekye?8 They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth.Jesus saithunto them, I am he.And Judas also, which betrayed him,stood with them.9 As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he,they drew backward, and fell to the ground.10 Then asked he them again, Whom seek ye? And theysaid, Jesus of Nazareth.11 Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: iftherefore ye seek me, let these go their way:12 Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus and seizedhim.13 And, behold, one of them which were with Jesusstretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struckthe servant of the high priest, and smote off his ear.14 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy swordinto its place: for all they that take the sword shallperish by the sword.In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are yecome out as against a thief with swords and staves forto take me?
